Can I thank the Gwulo community for identifying my incorrectly title post for the Hospital.

I have recently discovered one or two postcards with Hong Kong written on the back and some old photographs.

I am not aware of the origins of the collection but had assumed that they might all be of Hong Kong. I shall upload

a few more pictures to the site shortly. I hope these will be of interest and possibly the community might be able to identify some of them.

George Ah Kin (https://gwulo.com/node/41881) is my great great great grandfather. I found his Chinese signature in Barbara Moore's book (p.36) in  "Eurasian roots: A story of the life and times of George Ah Kin and Mary Higgins and their descendants.

Can anyone make out the last Chinese character of George Ah Kin's signature please?  Thank you for any help in advance.

The first 3 characters are: 佐治亞.

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me what life was like as a British nurse in Hong Kong in the early 1960s? I'm doing some research and hoping to find images or diaries etc to help build an impression of what life was like out there. What the needs of the people were, whether there was interaction with the locals/how the two worlds integrated.

I have posted some old photos taken at Barker Rd showing my mum Tania Talan and some other people Based on the houses in the background would anyone know the house number and what happened to the old place. We had to escape around 1965 during a landslide.
