Island School
Just curious - are there any ex-Islanders on these boards? I know the school has its own website but it doesn't seem very active.

Sorry, we don't have any photos with this tag yet.

Are the old Island School yearly magazine online anywhere?
There are well over 100 photos from this period at the Hedda Morrison website, and each photo has an interesting snippet of history attached. Well worth a visit.

I lived in hong kong fron 1948-1962, but have lost touch with most of my then friends.
I would like to find any who still remember me..
please get in touch.
I guess that still applies to many others in the same position.
this is a good place to find out. if there is.

Can anyone help us identify where these photos were taken? Unfortunately we have lost contact with Greg.

I used to live in hong kong until 1962.
There used to be a beach hut at turtle cove, owned by the hong kong electricity co. social club.
Is it still there, or has it all changed so much?
thanks.

Is it true what I read? That they are actually going to tear down this old landmark?
For something a bit different, we've written up a walk around Wanchai. If you have any visitors, and are looking for something to keep them busy for a couple of hours, could you see if they'll try it?
I'm interested to get any feedback on whether it's an interesting route or not, and if any of the directions aren't clear.
Cheers, MrB
This site is occasionally read by people who lived in Hong Kong years ago. If that's you, and you have any old photos of HK you are willing to share, we'd be very pleased to give them a home at Batgung.
For "old", let's say 1970's or earlier. You can let us know if you want to be acknowledged as the photographer or remain anonymous.
You can contact us by replying to this post, sending a private message (click on the "pm" button below), or emailing mrtall[at]batgung.com
Thanks & regards, MrB
If you are interested in that history, this site reproduces the despatch to the British Government summarising the operations in Hong Kong from 8th to 21st December 1941 : http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/UN/UK/LondonGazette/38190.pdf
It mentions the "underground Battle HQ" in Hong Kong. Any ideas if that still exists ?
