Susannah Weill and family

Submitted by Joanna on

I would appreciate any information that can be provided on Susannah (aka Susie) Weill and her family (Rosie and Albert Weill). Susannah married my first cousin Alexander Hutton Potts in December 1928 but I have not been able to uncover anything about the Weill family other than a newspaper clipping regarding the death of Albert Weill. The names of 2 sons are mentioned in the article but only use their initials rather than their full names. Also, I would like to know Rosie's maiden name. Thanks for any assistance.

The CLP History Film Project

Submitted by Amanda Sheppard on

The CLP History Film Project is a documentary detailing the history of CLP (China Light & Power) and the ways in which its development has become interlinked with the development of Hong Kong as a whole, as well as its more recent investments in China and India. We are currently searching for archive film footage of Hong Kong from the early 20th Century onwards. Having searched through the local government records service and resources, we would welcome any submissions or leads to private collections and other archive sources!

Victoria Gap and Peak Tram 1890-1930

Submitted by Klaus on

In science there is a term called data mining – extraction of new informations and interrelations from already existing data. I had the idea of image mining – using images on Gwulo for new (unreported) connections and timelines.

My special interests are buildings on Barker Road, so I chose from Gwulo photos of Victoria Gap and the Peak Tram with Barker Road on them.

Let’s start in 1890. This one was probably taken from Severn Road and shows the Peak Tram and Mount Austin.
