I have been conducting some research on the early water supply of Victoria City, and came across descriptions about the construction of 4 wells by the British government, as well as many more others by locals and foreign residents (For e.g. research publication by Dr. Pui-yin Ho from CUHK). Anyone knows where I could find historical images of such wells? Are there any remnants left at present?

Has anyone an idea where Upper West Terrace might have been c. 1880  - I suspect its somewhere Mid-levels-ish, and know that its not the Peak, but that's all ... thanks.

During their research for a book about the history of a German factory producing  clocktower-clocks, the authors came across a mention of a clock built for the “Hafenzollgebäude” in “Hongkong (China)” (Hafen = harbour, Zoll = customs, Gebäude = building).

They found it in a company publication dated 1928 and assume that it was meant for a building constructed around 1900. It might have been meant for a clock tower or for a building façade.

We are a group of mostly ex-members of the Royal Asiatic Society in Hong Kong, now living in the U.K., who meet together for regular lectures in London as well as an annual Chinese New Year lunch in Chinatown and a weekend away during the summer, always with a Chinese theme.  Our lectures are on topics to do with the history of Hong Kong and China, and are always interesting.

I am still trying to find out more memories about civilian internee Vincent Jarrett,any memories,anecdotes? Alos,I wonder if anyone has any ideas about tracking down any surviving relations? I know he had at least one child and was buried in Norway in 1974.

Can anyone help identify a dressed granite building facade from an old 1920s building in Queens Road Central which was demolished in the 1970s-80s and was subsequently stored in Pokfulam until recently.  Current location unknown.We do not know which building it was or have a photo.

Advice on where to post this question on Chinese language websites is very welcome.

Would anyone have photos of the Royal Hong Kong Regiment and Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force Banners/Guidon which have been laid-up in the Cathedral on the disbandment of these Units before the handover in 1997? If so, may I please be sent details. 

David, would it be possible to create a gallery for photos taken in the aftermath of the various Hong Kong typhoons in consecutive date order? I uploaded one of the damage to the Bungalow at 19 Broadwood Road where my family lived, but it took me a while to verify that the date was 1930.
