Janet McLean MORREN [c.1897-????]

Janet Morren (misspelt as Morran on the John Black's List) was a trained nurse. She was stationed at La Salle Relief Hospital during the Battle of Hong Kong. After the fall of Hong Kong, she was interned at Stanley Camp.

Her name/signature appears under "La Salle College" (La Salle Relief Hospital) on the left on the "Day Joyce Sheet" held by the Imperial War Museum. 

Faith Mary SNUGGS [1898-1990]

Faith Mary Snuggs was a Baptist missionary teacher. She came from a missionary family and served in South China and Hong Kong. 

During the Battle of Hong Kong, she was stationed at La Salle Relief Hospital. After the fall of Hong Kong, she was interned at Stanley Camp.

Faith M. Snuggs' name/signature appears under "La Salle College" (La Salle Relief Hospital) on the right on the "Day Joyce Sheet" held by the Imperial War Museum. 

William John Dudley PASSMORE [????-????]

William John Dudley Passmore was an audit clerk. He was the son of Nora Passmore who was stationed at La Salle Relief Hospital during the Battle of Hong Kong.

His abridged name/signature appears under "La Salle College" (La Salle Relief Hospital) on the right and inverted on the "Day Joyce Sheet" held by the Imperial War Museum. 

Edith May BEGLEY (née DOHERTY) [1901-????]

Edith May Begley was a Salvation Army missionary. She was married to Major Colin Keith Henry Begley of the Salvation Army. They arrived in Hong Kong in 1941. Major Begley came to take charge of the Salvation Army's relief work in Hong Kong and South China and later administer the communal feeding centres that were set up by the government.

She joined the Auxiliary Nursing Service after her arrival. During the Battle of Hong Kong, she was stationed at La Salle Relief Hospital.

Lydia Mary ARMOUR [????-????]

Lydia Mary Armour's occupation was given as masseuse in the link below. There was a "Lydia Mary Siggins" working for the Medical Department from 1928 as a masseuse. Not sure if Siggins was her maiden name.

During the Battle of Hong Kong, Lydia Mary Armour was working at La Salle Relief Hospital. She was later interned at Stanley Camp.

Jean SHELDON [c.1899-????]

Jean Sheldon was the wife of Magistrate, Harold George Sheldon. During the Battle of Hong Kong, she was a Hospital Supervisor at La Salle Relief Hospital. She was later interned at Stanley Camp.

A. E. Shields paid tribute to Jean Sheldon for her kindheartedness after Mrs. Shields was repatriated to the USA in 1942.  See here
