Three houses on Queen's Road Central between Douglas Lane and Li Yuen Street East. Probably different owners as they were built on three different lots (I.L.  4243 [39], 4242 [39B], 4241 [39A]).

In no. 39 the Dragon Seed Company had it's store, in no. 39A was the Hang On Ivory Factory (see e.g. here). The ivory store was still there in 1957.

Building on Queen's Road Central at the corner with D'Aguilar Street. Built on I.L. 17, today I.L.17 RP. It's predecessor, 36 / 36A / 38 / 40 Queen's Road Central was demolished c. 1957. This building stood on the eastern part of I.L.17, likely having the house number 36. In 1958, it was under construction, likely finished in 1959. A photo from 1958 gives the name as Hing Wai Building.

It was demolished c. 1997, the next building on this place is the second generation Hing Wai Building which was completed in 1998.

37 Queen's Road Central [????-c.1955]

Building on the northern side of Queen’s Road Central on M.L. 10. Possibly built on the place of Bowra & Co.

It has four square columns or piers. A bit more than half-way up they have a square capital (possibly not the correct term) without any applications, and at the upper end another square capital. On top is a horizontal beam that supports the balcony above.

It is easy to distinguish from its neighbour houses (33 and 35) by the different types of columns used.
