not exactly a posting about a HK history issue, but having met a number of really interesting fellow-Gwulo followers this year, I just wanted to wish all a happy Christmas and New year, and an early happy Chinese new year!

Anybody know anyone or any organisation that might be interested in such?
I'm collecting ideas for sites of interests to include in a map of Pokfulam (Mt Davis down to Tin Wan, west of Hong Kong Trail). Your suggestions with links/references would be much appreciated.
As a start I can use the AMO/AAB list to find sites. Next (any easy reference?) I can add military relics. .. your suggestions are most welcome.

Folks,
It is in the news and looks like the researchers in HKU had been busy. Their Faculty of Architecture releases research findings on WWII Defence Structures in Hong Kong yesterday.
Even after Kai Tak was bombed on 8th Dec 1941, flights between Hong Kong and Chungking continued for several more nights. Here's Colonel Harry Owen Hughes' description:
Anyone knows that a central axis can be drawn from Government House staircase to an opening in Central Government Offices West Wing?
There will be an exhibition on Canadian soldiers who fought in HK during WWII at Hong Kong Museum of Costal Defence:
Date: 23.12.2011 - 20.6.2012
Venue: Upper Gallery
