Peter Hall - In the Web

Submitted by loritahung@yahoo.com on

Hi Liz and Andrew

I took your advise and made a order for Peter Hall 's book - "In The Web"using the link provided in the forum www.countyvise.co.uk. It has been a week already and I have sent out two emails to check the order status, but no one from countyvise reply me. Is this a trustful website? I paid by credit card online and I am a bit worry.

RAF v. HONG KONG cricket matches 1980

Submitted by paulbrown on

My late father, Flight Sergeant Graham Brown, visited Hong Kong in (I believe) 1980 to umpire a sereis of cricket matches. He did this in his capacity as an RAF cricket umpire. There is nobody left in the family who really remembers the details of this tour that he made. I was 13 years old at the time and the tales of his trip made quite some impression on me when he returned back to the UK after his short Hong Kong visit.

Hi all, we lived in Hong Kong 1953-55. My dad was in the 1st Kings Reg and was posted to Hong Kong from Korea. I was 9 years old at the time, first we lived in Minden Ave in Kowloon a quiet little ave which backed on to Signal Hill. I have looked at it now on Google earth and it is unrecognisable today.

Inaccuracies

Submitted by useraccount7 on

Hi,

Could you please correct an inaccuracy that is part of the Bosman family tree? Annelise the manager has incorrectly listed Hau Ming Kwaan as deceased when he is alive, in fact.
It is not very nice to read something like this sort of inaccracy on the Internet. And, I would appreciate it if this information is corrected.

Thank-you.

Li Sui Chi presentation cup

Submitted by jill on

Can anyone throw light on whether a practice of giving silver trophies as personal gifts existed in Hong Kong at the beginning of the twentieth century? One of the few belongings of my grandfather Charles Edward Warren, active in Hong Kong 1894-1923, and which was salvaged by my uncle, Leslie Beal Warren, was a mysterious silver cup that doesn’t appear to commemorate any sporting achievement or event. The inscription simply reads: “C.E. Warren Esq./From/Li Sui Chi/Hong Kong/1903.” My grandfather's monogram CEW appears beneath this.
