Please help! My grandma's an Anglo-Indian born in Shanghai. She moved to HK during the 40s and had been in contact with friends and relatives there. She went by the name 'Rose Wang'. Does anyone have any information on Eurasians/Anglo-Indians from Shanghai???
I bought these two postcards with uprooted trees, most likely a result of the typhoon on 18 September 1923. One was along Nathan Road, but not sure where exactly these places were located.

While browsing the web I came across the following description of Hong Kong in 1874 at http://www.shengjing.org/hart.html
It is written by a member of the Christadelphian religious group.
Browsing the Jury Lists I find my great grandfather John Olson first appears in 1867 as manager of the Oriental Restaurant. This post is on the off chance that somebody may know something about the establishment.
Heretofore I had thought this restaurant was part of the National Tavern in Queen's Road which the Carl Smith Archive seem to indicate. Strangely the 1868 Jury List shows him at an innkeeper on Queen's Road.
All theories welcome.

According following website say Ho Kom Tong is son of Chinese man name Kwok Hing-yin. But I find this claim contradict with mainstream media common understanding.
According mainstream media Ho kom Tong is full blood Chinese his father is Chinese who surname is Ho as well. Certainly not Kwok Hing-yin

This is an image of my Grandfather from approx. 1945/1946
My Father and I have been trying to figure out what the monument in the background on the mountain top is. All we know about this photo is that is was probably taken while the battleship was anchored in Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong. Any assistance anyone could provide would be much appreciated!
it's seem doesn't make sense some Chinese media says Stanley Ho mixed blood with persian in Chinese media often said Stanley Ho mixed blood with four nation English(I guess is Dutch) Persian ,Jew and Chinese it's seem totally doesn't make sense said member of Robert hotung family mixed blood with Persian because everybody know they are mixed blood with European and no one mention they have Persian blood which from middle east and majority is Muslim
