I am writing the 150th anniversary history of the Sailor's Home and Mission to Seafarers in HK, at the behest of the Mission here, and would very much welcome permission to use (and a high res image please) any images of the early mission buidlings. I am particularly interested in finding an image of the premises of the mission from 1910-1933, which were situated at 21 Praya East (post 1922 reclamation 18 Johnson Road). Post 1933 until around the mid-1950s these old Mission premises became a government building partly occupied by the PWD.

I am wondering if you might be familiar with an artist named “Koo Bon”. He was active in the mid-70s and the company I work for owns a number of paintings by him. We are looking for more information about this artist but keep coming to dead-ends.

Apparently he owned or exhibited in the Country Art Gallery at the mezzanine level of the Mandarin Oriental in the seventies (and maybe later too?), but we have no further record of him, the paintings or the shop.

Would be grateful for any information.

One Sat morning early 1974 in the Officers Mess PTS Wong Chuk Hang I heard loud gun fire. Walking up to the firing range I saw a small unit of specialist shooters going thro their training. As it followed my specialst training in the UK firearms unit I was interested and opened my mouth about certain aspects of their training/shooting that I knew wouldn't work in the real world. Thats when I met Bill Duncanson and the other members of the RHKP Marksman Unit.

Any idea what thsi can be?

I got lots of red warnings which I could not understand.

The error messages show:

I have seen those error messages too, but thought they were only shown to me as the administrator. I hadn't realised everyone had to put up with them.
