Thomas NEAVE [1867-1925]

Looking for information about my great grandfather who worked for Hongkong Whampoa Dock Co from about 1890 to 1916.

His daughters born in Scotland both married Hong Kong Scots.

His daughter, my grandmother Florence Agnes Neave, was born in Hong Kong around 1900.

They called their house in England "Lei Yu Mun".

He features on a juror's list.

John Black's list gives Mr Fowlie's occupation in 1941 as "Police".

Contributor 1314 adds:

F.W.Fowlie, b 15.02.1902   enlisted in HKP 27.11.25,  Interned Stanley,promoted Sub Inspector 24.01.1941,awarded CPLSM 27.021943 as Inspector, Retired 1953

Archibald STALKER [1889-1956]

DoB from John Black's list, which gives Mr Stalker's occupation in 1941 as "Taikoo Dock".

He's mentioned in the 1941 Jurors List:

c * Stalker, Archibald Clerk, Taikoo Dockyard & Engineering Co. of H.K. Ld. On premises.

Robert YOUNG [1895-1958]

DoB from John Black's list, which gives Mr Young's occupation in 1941 as "Chartered Accountant".

Margaret Scott MCGUFFOG [1901-1978]

DoB from John Black's list, which gives Miss McGuffog's occupation in 1941 as "Teacher".

She is listed on page J21 of the Blue Book for 1939 as teaching as a Mistress at King's College, first appointed on 30th May, 1935.

Tony Banham lists her as nurse number 77 of the HKVDC Nursing detachment.
