The buildings in the top right, The Homestead Government Quarters, help to date this photo. Two roofed houses are visible, one almost hidden behind the hotel. To their right on the ridge line, an incomplete building is at an earlier stage of construction.

The following pic also shows the houses on The Homestead site, but more importantly, the incomplete building at about the same stage of construction as in the subject photo. Both pics were therefore taken at around the same time.

I’ve previously dated the second pic to 1923 and can’t see anything in the subject pic to cast doubt on that date.

Thank you, gw, for giving a date of the photo. I originally was referring to this previously posted photo

Peak Hotel - Peak Hospital - Formosa, by annelisec

dated to the 1910s. Probably this one is also c. 1923?

Hi gw,

Sorry, I didn't see your post regarding this photo. There is nothing to add from my side, only that I agree with you about the weathering of the Annexe. I think the date (if from the 1910s) should be at the end of this decade.
