Highlights:
The school building was formerly used by the Buddhist Chinese School. It was completed and opened in 1970. By 1986, due to the decrease in the number of students in the area and government's plan to use the site, the Buddhist Chinese School subsequently relocated to Kornhill after an agreed land exchange.
In 1962 a combined primary school, maternity centre and nursery was built in Shing Tak Street, To Kwa Wan, Kowloon, to serve a daughter church of the Emmanuel Mission Church in Nathan Road.
In 1949, American missionaries Rev. Dr. & Mrs. Charles A. Roberts came to Hong Kong due to the troubles in China and headed up work under the auspices of the Emmanuel Church in Nathan Road.
Pooi To Middle School moved from the previous Grampian Road site to this location in 1954
The plot before 1952 pooi to middle school was built at 2 Inverness Rd
Originally opened in 1946 with two classes, the school was rebuilt and expanded to six classes in 1954 with donations from Aw Boon Haw and others.
The school closed in 2008 and has since been converted into the HKJC Lei Yue Mun Plus to promote arts and cultural heritage.
