The school building was formerly used by the Buddhist Chinese School. It was completed and opened in 1970. By 1986, due to the decrease in the number of students in the area and government's plan to use the site, the Buddhist Chinese School subsequently relocated to Kornhill after an agreed land exchange.
Founded in 1981, the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) Tsui Tsin Tong School, a special needs school for children was originally located in Aberdeen. The Tsui Tsin Tong School relocated to the current site in 1990 after four years of school reconstruction and preparatory work.
