Ernest HEMINGWAY (aka 'Papa') [1899-1961]
Ernest Hemingway, a nobel-winning writer and novelist, stayed in Hong Kong in February-March 1941 and was back again in May. He was with his then wife the journalist Martha Gellhorn, who he was accompanying on an assignment to cover the Sino-Japanese War. It's possible that he was also a Soviet agent at this time.
James Bridges ENDICOTT [1814-1870]
He is buried in Happy Valley Cemetery. Patricia Lim's record:

Allston O'Driscoll GOURDIN [c.1850-1915]
His death was reported on page 4 of The China Mail, 1915-09-11:
DEATH OF A WELL-KNOWN HONGKONG RESIDENT
The death took place early this morning at his residence, 61 Robinson Road, of Mr. Allston O'Driscoll Gourdin, at the age of 65. Born in South Carolina in 1850, deceased came to the Colony in 1872, being associated with the Punjum Office and afterwards with the China Insurance Co. Later he filled the position of Assistant Secretary to the Hongkong Club, and in latter years was well known as an Accountant and auditor, and also as a Freemason.

John Black's list gives his occupation in 1941 as "Canadian Pacific Railway", and also notes his nationality was Canadian.
Ernest Percy SAMMONS (aka Red) [c.1894-1968]
'Red' Sammons worked for the Kowloon restaurateur E. F. Gingle.
Was he related to - even the father of - Frieda Salmon who was a friend of Barbara Anslow in the 1920s?
