American Kate W McBurney, along with her sister Jean G McBurney, came from the American Reformed Presbyterian Church tradition and both trained to be medical missionaries, serving in India at the turn of the 20th century

William Warder Cadbury, born in Philadelphia in 1877, was distantly related to the founder of Cadbury chocolate. He was an American physician, professor, researcher, author, and medical missionary. 

Ernest Chalmers MITCHELL [????-1943]

Reverend Ernest Chalmers Mitchell and his wife Lena, served as missionaries of the Covenanter (Reformed Presbyterian) Church, North America and, early last century, served in India, along with colleagues Dr Kate McBurney and Dr Ida Scott.

Arthur Robert THOMPSON [????-????]

In 1939, Arthur Robert Thompson managed Gingles (Wanchai)

An "Arthur Thompson" appears in 1945 upon his return to the United States in September that year.

One of the liberated Navy personnel is Chief of Commissary Stores, Arthur Thompson, who had retired to the Fleet Reserve and was running the London Cafe near the waterfront at Hong Kong when the war started

Harvey Leroy Decker was an engineer born on 11th April 1896 in the USA, to John Leroy (25) and Margaret Metz Decker (18).

He registered for military service in 1919.

Paul Braga

Businessman and fine arts collector

Paul Braga was the eleventh of thirteen children, and the ninth and youngest son of José Pedro and Olive Pauline Braga. Like his father and all his brothers, Paul was educated at St Joseph’s College, where he was a keen member of the 1st Hong Kong (St Joseph’s College) Scout Troop, and excelled as an athlete.

Henrietta McLellan WILSON [1879-????]

In 1948 her memoirs were published by her church, First Baptist Church, Pontiac Michigan, U.S.A., entitled “God Stood Between: Personal Experiences of Miss Henrietta Wilson, Missionary of the South China Boat Mission”. Henrietta spent several years as a missionary in China 1930s-1944 and for nearly 2 years was interned by Japanese at Stanley.
