Described as a 'large Chinese family mansion' in the PWD's Annual reports below.
IL 1946 is a curiously shaped lot, with the main section where the building stood, and a hook-shaped narrower section running up and around IL 1911 where the access road was built.
The lot and the building are mentioned in several of the Public Works Department's Annual reports:
- 1925.40: Landslips - February, Large rock dislodged at I.L. 1946 Broadwood Road. 1 workman killed.
- 1927.34: Site formation and retaining walls on I.L. 1946 and extension, Broadwood Road, and Caroline Road, was in progress.
- 1928.33: A large Chinese family mansion on I.L. 1946, Broad-wood Road was nearing completion.
- 1929.40: A Chinese family mansion, on I.L. 1946, Broadwood Road was almost completed.
- 1930.36: Works Completed - A Chinese family mansion on I.L. 1946, Broadwood Road.
Later maps show the same-shaped buildings on the site, but labelled 'Pui Kiu School' (e.g see map '1960 Hong Kong' at https://www.hkmaps.hk/viewer.html). I am not sure if the school occupied this building from 1946 when the school was founded, or if they moved here later.
The site was later re-developed and today it is the site of the Beverly Hill housing estate.

Rate Book entry 1916-1917 for I.L. 1946
I have already uploaded this image of the entry for 6 Broadwood Road, I.L. 1946 in the thread for Frederick Howard Kew. I don't know why no. 6 was always entered on a separate page from most of the other Broadwood Road houses. At any rate, a house existed on this lot at least from 1916, if not the same one as completed in 1930.
Map showing 6 Broadwood Rd I.L.1946
This map shows no. 6 nearly at the bottom of Broadwood Road in the same rectangle as the long narrow building of the school, but I'm afraid the focus on the number 6 isn't sharp. I'm not sure of the date.
