Very well spotted - I think you're right. My estimate for the location would be the squatter village at the slope of Mount Butler, about where today's Lai Tak Tsuen stands. Because Lai Tak Tsuen construction started around 1972, the original slide would be from 1970 latest.
Compare the rocks top left in the photo below with the large ones in the Mackay photo:
