People queuing for water at the Praya (Connaught Road). On Flickr, the date given is in the 1930s, but I'm pretty sure that the photo was taken in 1929. End of 1928 and early 1929, only very limited rainfall was recorded. The government allowed to fill two 4-gallon (18 litres) buckets per person from public stand pipes. (source)
