Rev George & Margaret McNeur, Canton Villages Mission 1930

Rev George McNeur was the first Canton Villages Missionary to go out to Canton with the CVM founder the Rev Alexander Don in 1901

He married a CVM nurse, Sister Margaret Sinclair in 1904 and they both served in Canton.  They had a daughter Jean in 1907.

Like other CVM staff, they took holidays in the CVM bungalows on Cheung Chau, in European House #10

They retired from overseas service just before the war in 1940.

He was ‘An outstanding personality who gave outstanding service.’  (Moderator of the General Assembly 1926).
