Crop taken from this Panorama from Fortress Hill with thanks to Herostratus.  Broadwood Ridge from the Causeway Bay side.

I'm delighted to have found a first sighting of the far side of the mansion that was Number 5, which I think is the front.  In colonial style with  rounded corners to front, I believe it faced out to Causeway Bay, unlike all the other houses on Broadwood Road.

Houses numbered accordingly.  I think house x must be across the other side of Happy Valley.  Perhaps someone could confirm?

Going by David's post here, should the date of this picture be nearer 1929 than 1926 because of the construction of No 6, Broadwood Road, 2nd generation?  I quote - 

  • "1927: Site formation and retaining walls in progress
  • 1928: Nearing completion. (Though perhaps a bit optimistic, as ...)
  • 1929: Almost completed.
  • 1930: Works completed.

I'll stick with 1929, though."
