The Japanese military government built Janapese Shinto Shrine "Nankai Jinja" - South Sea Shrine in this barrack. Accoring to the picture in “Victoria Barracks 1942-1979”, the location of this shrine was where Colvin House was built after WWII.
I've put a marker where I think Colvin House was, but it may need to be moved.

Stone Tablet of Shinto Shrine in Victoria Barracks
The entrance to the shrine was through the Japanese gate (torii). At the base of the gate was a stone tablet, which was later returned to Japan in 1980. Further information at: http://www.louis-chor.ca/nankaiji.htm
