DesVoeux_1926.png | Gwulo: Old Hong Kong

This picture shows Des Voeux Road after the August 1926 typhoon (I think) in south-eastern direction (the smaller building on the right where the road bends to the left had the offices of the Dutch Indian Commercial Bank, the Nederlandsch-Indische Handelsbank, whose ground floor had been under water as well). The buliding covered with mats on the right is the Hong Kong Hotel which is being demolished after its fire.

Date picture taken (may be approximate):
Friday, January 1, 1926

The Exchange Building is nearly finished too. They're just taking down the scaffolding.

Lots of interesting scenes in this latest batch, thanks for uploading them.

Regarding the date, there's a similar (not identical) photo at with a caption saying "HK Rainstorm 19th July 1926.
