George Francis HOLE [1887-1968]

Lieutenant-Commander George Francis Hole, R.N. was appointed Harbour Master, Marine Magistrate and Emigration Officer in July 1924. 

He was promoted to Commander in 1927. On 23 February 1929 he was appointed Director of Air Services in addition to his duties of Harbour Master etc..

As Director of Air Services, he oversaw the development of Kai Tak Airport and the early days of civil aviation in Hong Kong.

He sat on the Legislative Council from 17 Jan 1929 to 17 Oct 1940. He retired to Australia.

Fred NORMINGTON [1894-????]

On 18 April 1922 he married Elizabeth Buchanan Caldwell Gray at St John's Cathedral.

He appears in the Jurors Lists from 1920-1934, as shown below (changes highlighted in bold).

Charles Reginald WARREN (aka Reggie) [1909-1991]

Youngest child of Charles and Hannah Warren. Sibling of Leslie, Evelyn and Arthur Warren. Was sent to school in Vancouver Island with his brother, Arthur and then to Churchers in Hampshire, England. Returned to Hong Kong after his father's premature death and subsequently had a spell learning about rubber planting in Malaya, probably on the estate of Charles Rowe. He returned to Hong Kong, but decided to join a school friend in Ceylon, where he spent the rest of his career as a tea planter.

Dorothy Margaret SHAW (née ROE) [1897-????]

Dorothy Margaret Shaw (née Roe) listed her occupation as stenographer. She was married to Joseph Hilton Shaw who worked for the China Light & Power Co., Ltd.

After the fall of Hong Kong. Dorothy M. Shaw was interned at Stanley Camp. Her husband, having joined the HKVDC during the initial days of the battle was interned at Argyle Street Camp and later at Sham Shui Po Camp.

Joseph Hilton SHAW [1898-????]

Joseph Hilton Shaw was a Stores Superintendent at China Light & Power Co., Ltd.

He was married to Dorothy Margaret Roe. 

During the Battle of Hong Kong, he joined the HKVDC on 11 December 1941. Private Shaw was later interned at Argyle Street and Sham Shui Po Camps. His wife was interned at Stanley Camp.

William Richard Kingdon COLLINGS (aka Richard) [1904-2007]

William Richard Kingdon Collings was a Naval Architect. He joined Government as an Assistant Surveyor in the Marine Surveyor's Office of the Harbour Department (later called Marine Department) on 24 November 1933.

He married Flora Muriel Robson at St. Andrew's Church on 5 September 1936.

William Collings better known as "Richard" was a keen golfer and won many local championships. He also served in the HKVDC:

Thomas Fletcher STAINTON [1902-1984]

In the 1941 Jurors List, Thomas Fletcher Stainton, DCM* was a timekeeper at the Taikoo Sugar Refinery. He was also a Sergeant (3093) in the No. 2 Company (Scottish) of the HKVDC.

He married Daisy Elizabeth Minnie Wilson, nursing sister of Queen Mary Hospital at St. John's Cathedral on 23 July 1940. In 1940, he resided at No. 9 Braemar Terrace.

After the fall of Hong Kong, he was in Bowen Road Hospital and later interned at Sham Shui Po Camp. His wife was interned at Stanley Camp.
