Arthur Sydney Bliss was born on 20 December 1909 and baptised on 25 January 1910, both in Plymouth, England.  I have records of both these dates.  The CWGC wrongly spells his second christian name incorrectly as Sidney.

He first appears in the Jurors Lists in 1931, as an Assistant at H. K. & Whampoa Dock Co., Ld.

He isn't mentioned in the 1932 list, then appears in each of the 1933-1941 lists as a Clerk, still with the H.K. & Whampoa Dock Co., Ld.

He served with the HKVDC, and was killed fighting the Japanese. His entry in the list of casualties reads:
