Captain Harold Robert "Bob" Newton (1917–1941) was a British officer in the Indian Army. He served with the 5/7th Rajput Regiment in India from 1938 to 1940 before moving to Hong Kong, where he was killed in action on December 19, 1941, during the Japanese invasion. 
•    Birth: March 2, 1917, in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England.
•    Training: Attended the Royal Military College, Sandhurst (1936–1937).
•    Indian Army Service: Commissioned into the Indian Army, serving with the 5th Battalion, 7th Rajput Regiment in India.
•    Hong Kong Deployment: Transferred to garrison duty in Hong Kong in October 1940 as commander of D Company.
•    Death: Killed in action at age 24 during the defense of Hong Kong. He is buried at the Sai Wan War Cemetery in Hong Kong.
