Beatrice Rose Ablong, the daughter of Arthur John Ablong and Emma Ah Kin, married Arthur James Kew in 1926.
In 1955-58 Mrs. Kew applied for and was granted a sum of money (from a fund set up to compensate civilian internees) in respect of the night blindnesss and other problems she suffered as the result of internment.
Ethel KELLA [1885-1970]
Wife of Andre Kella.
Barbara Anslow writes:
I knew Mrs Kella, she must be the Aunt of Sheila Haynes about whose wedding there was much corresponence on the camp website recently. Didn't know her very well.
The Kellas are listed in Greg Leck's camp list as having come to Stanley on 21st Jan. 1942 (when a great many of us also arrived); in confirmation, they are also listed on the very first Stanley list smuggled out of camp early on.
