I have just joined in the hope of finding information about one of my ancestors Annie Jane Cole (nee Thomas) who apparently died at the [St Paul de Chartres French Convent] on 1st April, 1912. Annie Cole was a patient at the Convent, and as far as I know was visiting Hong Kong from Australia. Any information about the circumstances of her death would be gratefully appreciated.
The Convent also ran an orphanage and a hospital, so Annie Cole was probably in the hospital there. She may have been at Le Calvaire or the earlier Wanchai site, as the hospital didn't open at its present-day location until 1918.
She was buried in the Protestant cemetery:
