At the end of the war Mrs. Seraphina was forbidden by the doctor to accompany other members of her family to Australia (and thence to Scotland) because she was suffering from beri beri caused by Stanley Camp rations.

Mr. Pine came to Hong Kong before the European war to work in the Dockyard. Before that he lived in Plymouth (Devon) and played centre forward for the Plymouth Civil Service football team. His wife received a message saying he'd survived internment some time before September 14, 1945.
