He is buried in the Protestant cemetery in Happy Valley. His gravestone has the inscription:

18---/03/07- In loving memory / of / George Fowler / born 31st July 1881 / died 25th August 1949 / God saw the way was getting rough / the hill too steep to climb / he gently closed his weary eyes / and whispered 'Peace be thine' / erected by his loving wife and familyWm Nodes & Co. Ltd. # 10512

Funeral

MR. GEORGE FOWLER

Mr. George Fowler, local resident for many years who died on Thursday at the Queen Mary Hospital, was buried at the Colonial Cemetery, Happy Valley, yesterday.

A funeral service was held at St. John's Cathedral before the interment. The service was conducted by Dean Rose.

Mr. Fowler is survived by his widow, three daughters, Mrs, M. Wheeler, Mrs. G.C. Dudley, and Mrs. H.S. Martin, and three sons, Messrs. F.A. Fowler, S.A. Fowler and E. Fowler.
