John Black's list gives Mr Andrewes's occupation in 1941 as "Civil Servant".
His full name is given on page J58 of the Blue Book for 1939, which gives his position as "Official Receiver in Bankruptcy and Registrar of Trade Marks and Patents", and his date of first appointment as 27th Oct., 1928.
John William DEAKIN [c.1885-1955]

He was appointed as Custodian at Government House in 1912 (see page J42 of the 1913 Blue Book). The Blue Book for 1939 shows he was still there in the same position.
