The Prison Officers Club was also known in Stanley Camp as the Central Recreation Club. This was used as a school for infants; Catholic Masses were said there on weekdays before school started, and on Sundays.

Concerts and piano recitals were held there too some evenings.

A library was in a small room off the main hall.

The occasional 'canteen' also took place in the building where if you had money, you could queue up to buy imited food stocks. But each internee could only buy small quantities, otherwise the moneyed could snap everything up.
