The postcard description on the message side reads: The Fat Tong Mun Beach and the Temple of Heavenly Queen are full of junks, sampans and people during the festival.
Color photograph by K.P. Yuen.
This postcard was purchased new during 1970, so the photographic image was captured some time before that date. The Tin Hau Temple depicted on the upper right hand side of the postcard lies on the shore of Joss House Bay (大廟灣), in the vicinity of Tei Tong Tsui (地堂咀).
The festival alluded to in the postcard description would most probably be the one commemorating the goddess Tin Hau, which is held every year on the 23rd day of the third moon in the lunar calendar.
