1970s Wanchai air view. The pier is between Fleming and Tonnochy road. One can see the typhoon shelter, cross-harbour tunnel entrance. The different pedestrian bridges and flyovers. Kam Kok building 金國大廈 at south-east corner of Gloucester rd-Marsh rd junction was built in 1961. Telecom House 電訊大廈 (originally called New Mercury House 新水星大廈) built in 1973. It was the first major building on the newly reclaimed land. The site south of Gloucester road and east of Canal street is unoccupied. It was the site of the former British-American Tobacco Factory and Office. It was demolished around 1976. The Elizabeth House was not built yet (date of occupation 1978/11). Therefore the picture should be taken between 1976 and 1978.
