The Peak Cafe,1953-54

Here is a very nice photo taken at the Peak Cafe, sometime in 1953 or '54. Having read "Golden Boy", it is altogether possible that Martin Booth was inside at that very moment, cadging a Coke from a US Serviceman.

At any rate, this is a rare, close-up photo of this place,which seems to have scarcely changed from when I ate lunch there 19 years later,in 1972. From this point in time, I can no longer remember if I sat at one of these tables outside, or went inside.
