This photograph appeared in the 'Hong Kong 1973' Government Annual Report for the year 1972. I can confirm that it was taken around 1972 as I recognise a British Army RPL (Ramp Powered Lighter - Landing craft) undergoing a major refit on the dockside just to the right of the 100 ton hammerhead crane. My father was overseeing the repair of three RPL's at this shipyard during 1972. On school holidays I sometimes used to accompany him to the shipyards and I remember watching this craft being repaired by the highly skilled workers.
