Charles Medley Returns

Back in Hong Kong after service with the Royal Canadian Navy in the last two years of the war is Det.-Sub.-Inspector C. Medley of the Hong Kong Police.

Sub.-Insp. Medley is the second ex-Stanley internee to return to service with the Hong Kong Police. He is now attached to the Criminal Investigation Department, Tsimshatsui. With Sub.-Insp. D. Mann, now with the Special Branch, he was repatriated to Canada in September, 1943, after 20 months’ internment at Stanley Camp.  Early in 1944, Sub-Insp Medley joined the Royal Canadian Navy and saw service as a Lieutenant in the Canadian Navy Intelligence in both the Atlantic and the Pacific.

Born 24.07.1913, Canada. Enlisted in HKP on the 15.05.1934 as A 156. Appointed Lance Sergeant on 12.05.1935,served in the then Water Police and was Officer in Charge Launch 9,Mentioned in Iain Ward's Book Page 116.
