Hollywood Theatre (Yuen Long) started operating on January 29, 1987 and was closed some time in the 2000's.  For the purpose of this page, the date of closure is assumed to be in 2000.

Seating capacity: 1,765.

Address: The sources give slightly different addresses in Mong Kok, Kowloon; at  610 Nathan Road, and the northwest corner of Soy Street and Sai Yeung Choi Street.  I tend to think it was the latter after seeing several photos.

The Hollywood (Mong Kok) Theatre operated during the period June 17, 1964 - December 15, 1980.

Hilton Plaza Cinema operated during the period December 21, 1996 - September 1, 2006.

Harbour City Theatre / 海城戲院 [1984-1994]

Seating capacity: 2 screens, 249 and 228, total 477.

Address: 115-127 Castle Peak Road, Yuen Long, New Territories.  Yuen Long Landmark is the current occupant.

Happy Theatre started operating on August 9, 1990 and was closed some time in the second half of 1995.  For the purpose of this page, the closing date is assumed to be September 1, 1995.

Seating capacity: 1 screen, lower level 1,999, upper level 1,001.

Address: 9 Ning Yuen Street, San Po Kong, Kowloon.  The site is currently occupied by Yue Xiu Plaza with 3-23 as its street number.

Paris Theatre operated during the period August 25, 1966 -  February 28, 1992.  At the time of its opening, it had the largest seating capacity with a single screen in Hong Kong.  It is interesting to note the split in capacity between the upper and lower level.

The first theatre to operate at the site was Shek Wu Theatre / 石湖; however, a search has not been able to obtain information on it.  Its successor was the Hang Lok Theatre which is the subject of this place-page.  Except for the operating period, the seating capacity and address are considered the same for both theatres.

Seating capacity: 868

Address: San Hong Street, Shek Wu Hui, Sheung Shui, New Territories (上水 石湖墟 新康街).  Location marker is approximate.

Hang Lok Theatre operated during the period October 25, 1957 - January 1, 1997.

Address: The sources listed below show that that the Great Wall Theatre was located somewhere on Castle Peak Road (San Hui), in Tuen Mun, 青山公路屯門新墟, a town in the westernmost part of New Territories.  The location of the marker shown is an approximation.

Great Wall theatre began operating in 1962 and was closed some time in the late 1970s or early 1980s.  The exact date of closure is unknown so for the purpose of this page, the closing date is assumed to be 1980.
