Julius Rottenberg was in the yarn, tapestry and wool business in New York. He was an importer of such merchandise from China and was in Hong Kong on a business visit when the Japanese invasion began. Rottenberg was later interned at Stanley Camp and repatriated to the United States in 1942.

Leona Roschinsky later renamed Leona Ross was a missionary who served the South China Boat Mission in Canton (Guangzhou). By 1916, she had already arrived in China.
She was present in Hong Kong during the Japanese invasion and later interned at Stanley Camp. Leona Ross was repatriated to the United States in 1942.

Married to Robert Rodgers, an exchange broker. He was a Private in the HKVDC who fought in the Battle of Hong Kong. Private Rodgers was killed in action on 19 December 1941.
Elizabeth Rodgers was also in the Auxiliary Nursing Service. She was interned at Stanley Camp and later repatriated to the United States in 1942.
Nadeshda Richmond was of Russian descent and wife of John Fletcher Richmond. Her maiden name may have been 'Kupriyanovna'. She was interned with her husband at Stanley Camp and later repatriated to the United States in 1942.
John Fletcher Richmond appears in the 1941 Jurors List as an assistant (accounts department) working for Standard Vacuum Oil Co.. He was interned with his wife at Stanley Camp and later repatriated to the United States in 1942.

Wife of Calvin Henry Reber, a Methodist missionary and professor in theology. Her husband, baby daughter and herself were interned at Stanley Camp after the fall of Hong Kong. They were repatriated to the United States in 1942.

Father Joseph Michael Reardon was a Maryknoll missionary. He was ordained on 14 June 1938 and later assigned to South China.
He was present in Hong Kong during the Japanese invasion and was interned at Stanley Camp. Father Reardon was repatriated to the United States in 1942.

Herbert Eugene Rea was a senior executive with Standard Oil Company in Hong Kong. He was interned at Stanley Camp and repatriated in 1942 after 20 years in Hong Kong. During his internment, he had suffered impairment to his eyesight.
