Thomas Christopher MONAGHAN [1890-1943]
Thomas Christopher Monaghan came to Hong Kong in 1921 to establish facilities for Canadian Pacific Railways steamship cruises in the Far East.
He joined the HKVDC (Volunteers) the day before the Japanese attack.
During the occupation he claimed Irish nationality to avoid internment and devoted himself to relief and resistance activities. He eventually became an agent of the British Army Aid Group (codename: 'Mysterious'). is main work was in organising escapes from Hong Kong.
