No 139 on the 1912 Map
No 139 on the 1912 Map
This covers the period 1904 -1960. There was a further renumbering that took effect on 1st September 1960 to give the present peak numbering system but I have not found a complete record of the change online. If anyone knows where this may be found I will add it to the below.

I have been told about feral rabbits, and peacocks,on The Peak around the 1960s,at Little Peak School and Matilda Hospital.

Hi Everyone,
This website is great! I grew up in Hong Kong and have lived in Mansfield Road over the 1990s. Wondering are there any photos or photos anyone has taken of the Peak area Guildford road to Mansfield road during 1960s onwards? It is a very peaceful area and I have revisited it after moving to California. There is even a football team that plays in the park every now and then... my eldest son's childhood was that park took him there almost each day and was nice chatting to parents. Am interested in having a look at what it was during that era.
No. 34 Lugard Road, which is shown as “Westcrag” on maps, is believed to
have been built by its first owner, Fredrick Percy Franklin, between 1933 and

The house now known as ‘Carrick’ at No. 23 Coombe Road (which falls on Rural Building Lot 731) was constructed in 1887. It was obviously designed as a private luxury house used for residential purpose. Its first owner was John Joseph Francis (1839-1901), or J.J. Francis, as he preferred to be known. J.J. Francis purchased the plot of land on No. 23 Coombe Road in March 1886. In the following year he had his house, which he called ‘Stonyhurst’, built on the site.
Hi there,
Spotted this last weekend while going up Peel Rise again. The marker on the map is by best guess. It is abit off the road and inside the perimeter fance, slightly down at the top of a shaved slope over a covered garage. I used quite a few days poking into the GeoInfo Map and hit RBL 561 & Ext a few days ago.
Best Regards,
