Harold Walter HEWETT (aka Harry) [c.1892-????]
I'm trying to find out more about the Hewett family, who, in 1938 lived at 18 Broadwood Road next to no. 19, the house of my uncle, Leslie Warren. Mr Hewett appears in two photos at the Lido, Repulse Bay that I've posted at

Betty STEEL [1910-c.1997]
My grandmother was moved to Hong Kong from Wei Hai Wei when she was five, due to her father being appointed to the victualling Store Office in Kowloon. Sadly her father died in 1917, and is now burried in Happy Valley cemetery. With her mother and sister Audrey they continued to live in Hong Kong in a number of places: Kowloon, North Point and Happy Valley being the main ones.
Gladys May MOK (née HUTCHINSON, aka Girlie) [1924-2015]
Gladys was the daughter of Tom Hutchinson, sister of Beatrice, and appears in Tom's war diary as Girlie.
Catherine HUNTER (née COUTES) [c.1853-????]
Married to William Leyland Hunter who was born in Manchester, UK 1844. Three children, George, Tobias, and May.

Helen Mary EDMONDSTON [1927-1979]
Mary Edmondston was the daughter of David and Kathleen Edmondston. She lived in the Sun Wah Hotel with her parents for the first part of the Japanese occupation and was sent to Stanley with her mother after her father's arrest in May 1943.

Walter Philip THOMPSON (aka Tommy) [1909-1978]
Walter Thompson was a Superintedent in the Hong Kong police when the Japanese attacked in December 1941.
He was wounded by shell fragments during the hostilities and interned in Stanley after the surrender. On the night of March 18, 1942 he began an escape with Gwen Priestwood. On their way to Chungking, they were helped by Chinese guerrillas, and Thompson decided to operate with them behind Japanese lines. He ended the war as a Lieutenant-Colonel.
Beatrice Violet ? (née HUTCHINSON) [1922-2010]
