As per the SCMP article dated May 31st 1919 from the Carl smith card #00155487 Hajee Mahomed Hassum Chiney , proprietor of the firm M.H.E . Ellias, Wyndham St aged 59. had given $21,000 for the rebuilding of Mosque (mostly jamia)

Frederick John Dealtry Lugard, 1st Baron Lugard GCMG CB DSO PC, known as Sir Frederick Lugard between 1901 and 1928, was a British soldier, mercenary, explorer of Africa and a colonial administrator. He was the 14th Governor of Hong Kong (1907–1912).

Mr Arratoon Vertannes Apcar was a shipping merchant and long time Hong Kong resident of some 38 years and descended from the Armenian Apcar family originally from Persia. He was the managing director and founder of Messrs. A.V. Apcar and Co. Ltd.. He started in the opium business but later founded the firm of merchants and commission agents which bore his name. For some years the firm was agents in Hong Kong for the Ultramarino Bank of Macao.
