There were several Mr Evanses in Stanley; Mr B.D Evans was the Director of the Royal Observatory.

DoB from John Black's list, which gives Mr Oates's occupation in 1941 as "Merchant".

John Black's list gives Date of Birth as 1900, and profession as "Tea Adviser to the Chinese Govt".

He was husband of Joan. Their young son was also interned at Stanley.
