Everything tagged: haiphong road

9 three-storey houses on the southern side of Elgin/Haiphong Road with nos. 30-38 (see Index of the streets, house numbers and lots of the city of Victoria ... in the colony of Hong Kong).

Originally located on (the northern part of) K.I.L. 410, this was changed to K.I.L. 3510 to K.I.L 3518 at some time.

Three houses (numbers 30-32) were demolished around 1962, the other six survived until 1972.

28 three-storey houses on the southern side of Elgin/Haiphong Road with nos. 1-28 (see Index of the streets, house numbers and lots of the city of Victoria ... in the colony of Hong Kong). Originally located on (the northern part of) K.I.L. 212 and K.I.L. 213, this was changed to K.I.L. 211 at some time.

The 1896 map on Gwulo shows that 14 western houses had been built already,  the following ones likely around 1900.

Block of four-story houses on Haiphong Road (originally Elgin Road) extending from Nathan to Hankow Roads (Lock Road didn't exist then), built on K.I.L. 3 and K.I.L. 401. Appears first on the 1904 map on hkmaps.hk, they were probably built around 1900.
