Heavy Draw-off Hydrant (number unknown) - Old Wan Chai Post Office [1964-????]

According to Fire Services Departent records, 31 heavy draw-off hydrants were approved for installation in Kowloon and 4 on Hong Kong Island between 1962 and around 1971. 28 were located under the Kai Tak Airport flight path, but several more were placed in other high-risk locations. There was one approved in front of the old Wan Chai Post Office on Queen's Road East in 1963. 

Heavy Draw-off Hydrant #31, Ma Tau Wai Rd & Chatham Rd [c.1969-c.2010]

31 heavy draw-off hydrants were installed in Kowloon and 4 on Hong Kong Island  between 1962 and around 1971 under the flight path of the Kai Tak Airport and other high-risk locations. 

According to Fire Services Department records, this one was installed in 1968 or 1969. It was removed between 2009 and 2011 according to Google Street View. It was a salt-water hydrant (painted yellow).

Location approximate - it was at this intersection but not sure which corner. 

Heavy draw-off hydrants were installed under the Kai Tak flight path and other high risk locations between 1962 and around 1971. 31 were installed in Kowloon and 4 on Hong Kong Island.

According to Fire Services Department records, heavy draw-off hydrant #26 was installed at the intersection of Nathan Road and Jordan Road in 1970 or 1971. Date of removal unknown, but it was before 2009. I was unable to find a photo of the location.

According to Fire Services Department records, this one was installed in 1968 or 1969. It was removed between 2011 and 2019 according to Google Street View.

Heavy draw-off hydrants were installed under the flight path of the old Kai Tak airport and other high risk locations between 1962 and around 1971. This one was removed between 2011 and 2016. 

There were a total of 31 in Kowloon and 4 on Hong Kong Island.
