William (Bill) Todd served in the Hong Kong Police and at the time of the Japanese invasion was Lance-Sergeant 16 attached to Eastern Division (Wanchai).

He returned to Hong Kong after release from Stanley and recuperation, retiring in the sixties as a Chief Inspector.

William (Bill) TODD, born 17.2.1916,brother of Murray Todd,( post war HKP,) enlisted 26.7.1939 as L/Sgt A16,arrived HK 26.8.1939 on Viceroy of India,appointed Sergeant 25.8.1940,Interned,single,one of the Stanley Trio (MacLeod & Pearson) as entertainers in Stanley Camp.On 21.11.1947 involved in the m.v. Sai On incident.Awarded Kings Police/Fire Services Medal for Gallantry vide London Gazette  38037 Page 3679 of 5.8.1947.Promoted Asst Supt 7.11.1950 and to Supt 7.11.1953.
