DoB from John Black's list, which gives Pile's occupation in 1941 as "Asst. Hospital Supervisor." That list gives Mr Pile's initials as "R M", but government documents (eg item 1047 in the Government Gazette for 1941)  give his name as Thomas Madison Pile.
