Diocesan Girls' School 1933 Fancy Dress dance practice

Photo of my mother (Sheila Borras) in fancy dress with school friends at DGS 1933. Left to right: Pam Crofton, Kitty, Phyllis Lang and Sheila Borras. Would love to hear from any descendents who heard of my mother.

Hi Duncan,

Thanks for posting the photo. We've got pages for several of the people and locations shown in the photo, see the Shows ... above. I suggest you create a page for your mother to act as a central page to gather information about her: https://gwulo.com/node/add/person

Does the title 'Fancy Dress dance practice' come from the original photo album, or is it your interpretation? As the two couples are wearing matching costumes I guess they are getting ready for a school play. If you are confident of the year 1933, you might find details of the event in the newspapers for that year.

Regards, David

Hi Duncan - thanks for posting these pictures of DGS. My mum was Phyllis Katharine Lang. I can’t find any reference to your Mother in her diaries, but Pamela Crofton comes up several times, in reference to nursing, inc. a picture of Pamela in hockey togs (1941)

Hi. Many thanks for responding. We've read your Mum's diaries and they were very interesting. From photos from DGS, it looks as though they enjoyed the school. I have other photos of a couple of class teachers.

Regards
David
