Peninsula Court, new annexe to the Peninsula Hotel - page 2 of 4

"The building as now completed has undergone some amendments, as the original scheme, which was planned to provide luxurious apartments, was changed, to meet the demand for first-class tourist accommodation, to that of a de luxe hotel containing 45 three-room suites, 11 two-room suites and 23 single rooms all with attached baths."

"In consequence of this change, the part of the basement which was originally to be a car park will be converted to a sitting lounge, a bar and a most up-to-date restaurant to provide dining and entertainment facilities for the hotel residents, as well as to the public."

"The ground floor, mezzanine floor and the front part of the basement are being occupied by the Kowloon Branch of the Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation.  The banking hall is a very impressive one, with ample public space for depositors and customers of the Bank and a large working area for the staff."

"The Cash Department is entirely enclosed with plate glass."
